The Truth About Me

The truth about me is I’m a comedian

BUT i DID NOT WANT THOSE BRIGHT LIGHTS

Figured they would kill me dead

and then no one would laugh

So I became a gadfly

on the side of life

away from those bright lights

+

Which meant if I did anything

stupid it would go unnoticed

and even if I did bad things

I would get by

+

I have succeeded

almost famously

but only if God has a sense of humor

am I likely to avoid

more trips into this

oh too solid flesh

till I fulfill my destiny

a few blocks north of here

beneath lights of low wattage

compared to what anyone with soul can see

just by asking
