It’s impossible (for me) to say what precipitates what before a thing is done. Our bodies intelligent as they are decompose. Our consciousness and its aspects survive. We may well be in this respect eternal beings, spirits. Our bodies are a miracle and warrant our love. But I continue to believe causes — say of death — are determined elsewhere.
